The Praia do Anil beach is under process of cleaning up, which was the most beautiful beach of the center of Angra dos Reis. Today this beach is the setting for major concerts, festivals and celebrations organized by prefecture of the Angra dos Reis city.
This beach is located on the tip of the City within the Marinas residence. The access is from the entrance on Praia do Jardim beach just after the Piratas Mall, near the city center. It is 350 meters long with clean water which is invitation for a swim. It is visited mainly by local's residence and summer vacationers.
Praia Grande beach is the largest and most visited beach along the Contorno road. With claer, blue and calm water it offers a pier and a large stretch of sand. On the Contorno rosd there is a beach which it is a real delight. The Gruta beach has a small sandy strip with an abundance of trees, wildlife, clear and calm water. It is located between two lush beaches, Figeira and the Tanguazinho beaches. The access is from a small cave or from a trail. A huge rock is located near the middle of the beach making it even more attractive.
The Tanguazinho beach has a wild look, but is calm and beautiful as other beaches around. Like the praia da Gruta beach and the Praia da Figueira beach. This beach has clear water which is completely surrounded by woods like coconut trees and a coastline where you can see some turtles.
It is located beside the Contorno road, considered as "tourism road". The best addess for the Contorno road is from the "Encruzo da Enseada" turnabout on the Getulândia-Angra road. The beach is right after the last bus stop between the Retiro and Vila Velha areas. To get there you must descend a steep downhill road, but it is worth it. A calm sea of deeply green and many tree shades around!
With very calm waters this beach has a pier that allows mooring of small boats. It is located on Contorno road at Bonfim area at 2,5 kilometers from center of Angra dos Reis. From the beach you can see the traditional small church of Bonfim located on the top of a small rock close to the coast. Visitors can find small local shops, some bars and good home cooking.

The faster access is from the Angra-Getulândia Road, on the Encruzo turnabout. The beach is located at Enseada area on the Contorno road. You can find the Eguas beach which is located before the Monsuaba beach and after the yacht club located in the Petrobras village. This beach is beautiful and gets crowded in summer time. The Espia Beach can only be accessed by boat. You can not reach this beach from the Ponta Leste road which is located close to the Biscaia beach. From this beach you can see the monument for the crew of sunken vessel called Aquidabã which is located on top of the hill at Ponta Leste. It is an attractive beach with lots of vegetation, clear, calm water like all of beaches from our region.
It has a huge expanse of sand with calm waters, but it is not conducive to swimming due to the muddy bottom of the bay. The beach can be seen from BR 101 road above the beach. The entrance is free from the main gate of the Tartaruga Beach residence. It is a simple beach with quiet beautiful calm waters. It is located just after the Paraíso beach. The access is from BR 101 road on Petrobras company turnbout, following the Ponta Leste road.
This beach is magnificent and can be seen from the access road. It is tiny and has crystal clear waters surrounded by forest. The beach received its name because there is a great stone like a whale there. The access is through BR 101 road turnabout at Petrobras company and following the "Ponta Leste" roads.
This is the most popular beach of the Ponta Leste area. It's huge and reigns supreme on the edge of the Ponta Leste Road. With calm and blue and sometimes greenish water, it is amazing for hiking. The access is by trail and it must be performed by walking along a path full of woods and springs.
It is located 44km from the of Angra dos Reis center. Access is from BR 101 road at km 524. The beach access is free. There is a guard gate at the entrance in order to identify people as they enter beacause there is residential village there. This beach offers excellent services. The beach is quite dangerous due to the waves and strong sea currents but it is as beautiful as other beachs in the area.
Praia Vermelha beach is free quite small and vehicles can not reach it. You must walk down a long stretch passing through some residencies. It is an excellent beach with crystalline yellow sandy grains. It is located on BR 101 road, 50km south of the Angra dos Reis center.
This beach is exotic and is 4km long with big waves and clean waters. Its edge is urbanized with trees and sidewalks. It is located of about 50km from center of Angra dos Reis and is right on the border of Angra dos Reis and Paraty cities. It has the mouth of the Mambucaba river dividing the beach. The access is free from BR 101 road. It is necessary to be identified at the gate because there is a village from the Eletronuclear company nuclear plant.
